Biomimicry project
The Mitti Cool fridge is an innovative, eco-friendly cooling solution invented by Indian potter Mansukhbhai Prajapati. Inspired by termite mounds, this clay refrigerator uses evaporative cooling to preserve food without electricity. Made from clay and sawdust, it features a water-filled upper chamber that slowly seeps through porous walls, cooling the contents in the lower chamber. This cost-effective, sustainable device is particularly valuable in rural areas with limited power access, keeping food fresh for days while consuming no electricity.
